Chapter 2 - “A Visitor”

Re;A Hero’s Fantastic blessing-filled Life! EX

Arc 1 - “Despair’s Door”

Chapter 2 - “A Visitor”

“A visitor? We must go attend to them! Philip, let’s go!”
Both of them stand up from their chairs and head out to meet the visitor. When they get to the Mansion’s doors, they hear knocking—— albeit, very slow and gentle knocking.
“Oh man, Philip. This visitor must be very impatient.”
Philip puts his hand in front of Wald as if telling him to move back.
“I sense some hostility. Let me open.”
He whispers that to Wald, who responds by shaking his head up and down, symbolizing that he understood him. They were shocked at what they saw when Philip opened the door. There was a very severely injured girl, she collapsed.
        “Dad! what happened?!”
Young Justice had appeared, like Wald and Philip, he was also shocked by the sight of the collapsed girl.
“When we opened the door, she collapsed as if she had lost all her mana. I’ll try to get Aqua-sama to heal her, in the meantime, you go tell everyone what happened.”
        “Right!”
With that, Justice ran off to tell everyone, and Philip picked her up, bridal style. He knew very well that they would need to treat her with caution. He could still sense the hostile aura that was flowing from when she knocked on the door.
“Philip… I don’t really think it’s a good idea to just help a random girl who passed out. Plus, you said that you could feel a hostile aura coming from her.”
“Lord Wald, since I am a Knight, it’s my duty to help those in need. I’m sure if you were a knight, you would do the same.”
        “No, I really wouldn’t.”
        “That was a fast declaration.
Was what he thought to himself.
“…… The point is, I’m basically required to help someone, whether my Lord likes it, or not.”
“You’re really tough to argue with, you know that? I guess I’ll allow her to stay here……… Only for a few days, though!”
        “Thank you, sir.”

Philip walked into a room, while still carrying the unconscious girl. The room looked very…… royal. Almost looking like a sauna. It had little waterfalls flying out of the walls, and into small pools of water. The room was the home of the Ex-Water Goddess, Aqua. There was a bed in the absolute center of the room, which Aqua was sleeping on.
        “Aqua-sama……?”
“What?! Can’t you see that I’m trying to sleep?!”
She immediately woke up. And stuck her face into Philip’s face, which made it look like they were kissing—— very roughly.
“Could you, maybe, move your face away?”
        “Fine!”
Though Aqua was considered immensely beautiful by both men and women, and she could be called a “Goddess of Beauty”——— her personality would be the one thing that was keeping people from liking her.
“If you’re not going to say anything, then leave!”
“Sorry. I am requesting that you heal this injured girl.”
“I didn’t even notice that she was there. Why? I don’t like helping people. Also, don’t you also know healing Magic?”
“Her injuries would be a bit too much for me to be able to heal. The same thing would go for Beatrice and Emilia. Which would make you the only option left.”
“Grrrr. How will it benefit me if I healed her?”
        “I’ll buy you some booze.”
        “Okay, I’m in.”
Aqua grabs the girl from Philip’s arms and lays her down in the pool that was behind her bed, the body of water was unexpectedly very clear. After that, a blue Magical Circle spawns under her. Aqua’s hand started emitting a whitish-blue glow, which also made the pool glow the same exact color. All of the young girl’s injuries start to slowly disappear, the injuries looked like they were getting dissolved in the water.
        “All done.”
The Magic Circle disappears and she picks her up from the pool and puts her back into Philip’s arms again. Despite being in water, she wasn’t wet, nor soaked.
“Thank you. I’ll go buy your booze soon.”
        “HUUUUHHHH!?

        “Hey.”
        “Ugh! You’re here again?!”
        “Looks like it.”
He responds with a witty comeback. Justice was back at the Forbidden Library for the second time that day, much to the annoyance of Beatrice.
“Do you need anything, I suppose? Or are you here to annoy me again? It better be the former.”
“My dad rescued a very injured girl, and he’s getting Ms. Aqua to heal her.”
        “So?”
“The girl he rescued was………… cute.”
He started blushing, then started looking at his thumbs, while proceeding to start twiddling them.
“If you want me to help, then elaborate, or do you want to get kicked out again?”
“Can you…… help me confess to her?”
       ——
After a few moments of silence, Beatrice stops looking at Justice and starts looking directly down at her book. Beatrice’s blue eyes had a pink butterfly pattern in the center, usually made her look stern. They looked mournful. More silence was followed by Beatrice letting out a sad and shallow sigh.
“If you need help on love, then, ask anyone here. Not me, out of all people——— Everyone I’ve ever loved or cared about has……………
Tears start falling off of her face and unto the book she was reading before Justice came. Justice had never seen Beatrice cry, so he was stunned by this at first, but then, realizing what he had done, he apologized and tried to change the topic, to cheer her up.
        “Sorry, I shouldn’t have asked……… So, hey—”
        “Please……… Just leave me alone……”
        “Yeah, sorry....”
Justice walks out of the Forbidden Library. Once he’s out, he stands still, not saying anything. He was trying to get the image of Beatrice crying out of his head.
“I guess I’ll have to leave her alone, for now…”

        It was around 8 PM.
Justice was sitting on his bed, thinking about Beatrice missing both supper and dinner, which made him worried. After contemplating what he should do, Justice chooses to head back to the Library and try to make it up to her. When he opened the door he found someone standing there surprised.
She had blue hair that was braided onto one side along with olive green eyes. The exact same girl that Philip had asked Aqua to heal. In Justice’s mind, she had looked much prettier than when she all of those injuries.
“Oh, looks like you opened it before me. I’m Meili, nice to meet you!”
        “H–Hello, I’m Justice!”
        • • • •
They begin to awkwardly stare at each other. Afterward, Meili decides to leave, in hope of making things less awkward for them tomorrow.
“Are you leaving to make things less awkward?”
        “Mmmaayyybee.”
Thereafter, they started to talk about each other’s interests and another stuff. Most of their “conversation” was just awkwardly staring at one another. Justice had forgotten his ideal about patching things up with Beatrice after all the talking and staring.
“Welp, it’s getting late, I’ll see you tomorrow!”
        “Bye.”
Meili leaves and Justice closes the door.
“I feel like I’m forgetting to do something……
Justice hops onto his bed and looks at the ceiling. Eventually, he falls asleep.

        “I’m back here?
Justice was back in the same place from his previous dream. A field full of flowers, with a gentle wind breeze, beautiful sky, and birds chirping. The same girl returns, but this time, she was a little different— she was smiling.
        “You… will die.”
As soon as she said that, Justice woke up from his dream, looking at the ceiling.
       “Another weird dream.”
He gets out of bed and wipes his eyes while yawning at the same time; the same things he did when he woke up yesterday. Like yesterday, he finds only the twin maids working.
        “Déjà vu? Weird.”
Also like yesterday, he closes the door and hops onto his bed, trying to go back to sleep. Which doesn’t work for him. The similarities between yesterday and today were only annoying Justice. First that weird dream, the twin maids being the only ones awake, and not being able to fall asleep. What was next?
“Tch. I guess I’ll go try training my magic early today.”
Opening the doors only lead him not to the place he wanted to go, but the place he needed to go yesterday. A Library. The Forbidden Library. Also known as Beatrice’s multi-purpose room.
“The Library? Crap! I needed to apologize to Beatrice yesterday.
He searches the Library for her and ends up finding her, sitting in the same spot she usually does, drinking tea and reading a book.
“Beatrice! I’m sorry for making you cry yesterday!”
“What are you talking about? I don’t remember crying yesterday, I suppose.”
“What? I made you cry by talking about love, and I’m here to apologize for that.”
“Love? I don’t remember talking to you about that stupid concept, I suppose. Now leave or I’ll make you.”
